My Responsibilities:

The Challenge
The David Yellin College website serves students, faculty, and alumni. Over time, it became large and hard to navigate, with dense program pages and an outdated design.
The redesign aimed to modernize the look and make academic content easier to browse and understand.
Key Problems
Content Overload
Long program pages made scanning and comparing programs difficult
Complex Navigation
Hundreds of pages across Hebrew, English, and Arabic created deep, inconsistent flows
Outdated Visuals
The old design didn’t match the college’s updated branding
Mobile Experience
Dense pages were difficult to read on smaller screens

Research & Analysis
I conducted a competitive analysis of other university websites, mapping common content sections, grouping information logically, and noting effective navigation patterns.
These insights shaped the page structure and hierarchy for the wireframes.

Information & Page Structure
The project largely kept the existing site structure, but I improved hierarchy and grouping to make content easier to scan, based on insights from competitor analysis
Organized content with clear hierarchy
Simplified navigation for multi-language audiences
Created reusable templates for programs and departments

Wireframing
I began with low-fidelity wireframes to validate page structure and ensure all required components from the client brief were included. The wireframes focused on structuring program information and creating clear page templates.

UI Design
After finalizing the page structure, I used the client's new style brand guidelines to design a modern, modular interface.

Homepage Hero Design Exploration
I began the redesign with the homepage hero section to set the visual tone for the entire site. I explored layout, imagery, and messaging to reflect the college’s brand and values, and created multiple concepts for consideration.

After refining the ideas, I presented the client with two main themes:
-
“Gateway to Education” – Symbolizing both the college entrance gates and the broader idea of opening opportunities through learning.
-
“Connectedness & Multiculturalism” – Highlighting the college’s diverse community and emphasizing connection through design.

Mobile Design
I optimized the mobile layouts to improve readability and scrolling through content-heavy pages.
Development Collaboration
I delivered the designs to the development team with detailed Figma specifications and component documentation. I also collaborated closely during implementation and supported design QA to ensure visual consistency across the site.
Final Design
The new site went live in February 2026. I built reusable templates for programs and departments, so the college can add new pages in Hebrew, English and Arabic whenever they need to. Since launch, I’ve stayed involved, designing new features and small improvements as they come up.
